THE STATE OF TENNESSEE AT CERSAIE 2018

On 24th September 2018, the President of Confindustria Vincenzo Boccia has inaugurated Cersaie, the international exhibition of ceramics for architecture and bathroom furnishings, which has been held until 28th September at BolognaFiere.

Among the 840 exhibitors and over 111,000 visitors, an institutional delegation of the State of Tennessee, coming from Nashville has been present to meet companies in the ceramic sector.

The State, which hosts a ceramic district in exponential evolution and that has already become the second home of companies such as Sacmi, System, BMR, LB, Silvestrini, Martinelli Stampi, Rainbow, Hydrodesign, Torrecid, GMM, was the protagonist of the second day of CERSAIE.

At 3.00 pm, at Sala Allegretto, during the press conference, “Italian ceramics conquers Tennessee: new opportunities for an expanding market”, the delegation presented the data provided by the State Economic and Community Development Office about the growth of the ceramic market, in the last year.

Lyndi Berrones, Director of Business Development, Adam Murray, Advanced Manufacturing & Foreign Direct Investment, TVA and Virginia Crowley, Director of the Department of Economic and Community Development of the State of Tennessee in Italy explained the advantages and facilities offered to companies interested in expanding in Tennessee.

Among the most important factors are the almost zero bureaucracy, zero burdens of urbanization, tax exemption of the training, availability of raw material (such as clay, feldspars), abundance of water, ease of settlement as well as the presence of a ceramic tradition and therefore of technical schools and courses university students who prepare qualified profiles. The conference was also attended by Sergio Fribolle, Director of the Department of Economic and Community Development of the State in France and Spain.

At the end of the day the State hosted a Networking Cocktail at the Porta Cafè, during which it was possible to meet the representatives of the State of Tennessee and discuss with them the investment opportunities in a relaxing and informal atmosphere of one of the city’s best-known cafes.

During the entire duration of the fair, Lyndi Berrones and Adam Murray accompanied by Virginia Crowley have had a full B2B meetings agenda with companies interested in the State.
