Regions for Global Sustainable Development

Bees Communication, Italian office of the Department of Community and Economic Development for the State of Pennsylvania, accompanied Neil Weaver, Executive Deputy Secretary, to the international conference “Regions for global sustainable development” on Friday, 14th June 2019.
After the institutional greetings of the mayor of Bologna, Virginio Merola and the vice rector of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, Mirko Degli Esposti, the councilor Patrizio Bianchi introduced the event; to follow, the representatives of the different regions took the floor:
Nawa Mpho, president of the Province of Gauteng (South Africa), Qin Weizhong, deputy governor of the Guangdong Province (China), Isabelle Boudineau, vice president of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and Joe Alioto Veronese, member of the Board of Directors of the Senate Office for International Relations of California (USA).
The conference ended with a speech by Stefano Bonaccini, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region and with the joint signature of the “Regions for global sustainable development” Declaration, with which the regions officially committed themselves to a concrete collaboration on fundamental issues such as Big data, the digitalization of production systems, the transformation of cities and climate change and the environment.
