Pennsylvania to Attend K-Plastics in October 16-23, 2019
With over 3,000 exhibitors, K 2019 is one of the world’s most important plastic and rubber trade fairs. Of these exhibitors, over two-thirds are international – and nearly 500 are Italian.
Italy is the most represented country after Germany, where the fair will be held, in Dusseldorf.
Pennsylvania is a power player in the plastics industry, being the second largest producer in all of the United States for natural gas. From 2005 to 2014, they saw a 2,400% rise in extraction, and they expect to occupy 40% of the market by 2030 (API, IHS Markit).
Beyond simply having a large supply of raw material, Pennsylvania has invested in plastic production as well, home to the largest plastics lab in the United States, as well as two of the six higher education programs focused on technical engineering in the plastics sector.
Investing in plastic is one of the best opportunities for foreign investors in Pennsylvania’s market, because of the state’s large supply of natural gas and support of the plastics industry, combined with the incentives it offers to businesses hoping to call Pennsylvania home.
The representatives of Pennsylvania, along with the United States consulate, will be hosting a networking event during K-2019 to offer more information about the opportunities available in Pennsylvania for international companies, and will be available for one on one meetings as well.
Bees Communication, the Italian Office of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and Director Patrizia Marani, are always available to answer any questions about what opportunities the state offers, at K 2019 and beyond.
